Since its inception in 1997, SMC has become a prominent actor in
Tunisia’s steel industry. Commencing operations in 1999, the
company has developed significant technical and operational expertise
over more than two decades. SMC has continually adapted its
processes to meet evolving market demands and international
standards all while ensures full compliance with Tunisian regulations.
In 2017, SMC launched a strategic investment project to introduce a
new production line specialized in wire rod and new diameters of
reinforcing bars. This technological advancement aims to strengthen
its position in both local and regional markets.
As part of this project, SMC is investing in:
- A reheating furnace capable of processing 12 m billets
with a horizontal automatic loading system and
vertical
- A new rolling line for wire production
reel machine
- Major renovations on the old production line

A specific SMC marking is engraved on the Round bars at
Concrete for diameters: 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 20, 25 and 32 mm
